With all these fancy skincare products and with better skincare routine you might be following religiously yet your skin is not giving you glowing results as you are looking for. So, you might wondering what exactly you’re not doing right?

There are some common skincare mistakes that you’re making right now and believe me with these little changes you make, your skin will work wonders for you. You need just little patience and cautious with it.

Let’s identify these mistakes and know how to fix them up!

You’re not washing off face properly

From the very first step in skincare the most underlying and important mistake we make is not to wash face properly. By “properly” it means three basic things

  • Not cleaning the corners of face

Our major focus while washing our face is cleaning cheeks, forehead, under eyes, chin or nose over and over while neglecting corner areas of face like, hairline, jawline, skin around ears and sides of our faces.

  • Using hot water instead of lukewarm

Always wash your face with lukewarm water. Cleaning your face with hot splashes of water will make your face surface dry and peeling.

  • Multi-cleansing

If you are wearing heavy make-up than remember make-up remover or eye-remover pads won’t be enough. Your skin needs more than that. As we all know Korean popular double cleansing method.

For this, always keep oil-based cleanser and water-based cleanser. Start with oil cleanser that will help to remove all makeup and SPF. After that apply water based cleanser, as it removes sweat and dirt. Once you done with it you will see the difference, it will leave your face clean and shiny.

Exfoliating too much

Overusing of face scrubs can lead to dryness as well as triggering more blackheads and breakouts. Exfoliating more will strip of its natural oils of your skin and leave your skin redden and irritated.

A gentle tip: Try to use gentle chemical scrubs (with acid like lactic and glycolic) and exfoliate your face not more than twice a week!

You’re not changing your pillowcase

The most ignored part for our skin is hygiene of our bed. If you are sleeping on your bed sheets and pillowcases and not changing them frequently. You are welcoming dirt and dust both that leads acne straight up to your face and hair.

Make sure always to lay on clean sheets and pillowcases and replace them after three days in a row least.

Tugging your face and Popping pimples

This is something we can’t resist of even if we want to and we’re all ashamed and openly admit that we can’t resist the urge to pop our pimples out. But you know as well squeezing pimples will leave a scar on the face.

Better to apply spot treatment on your pimples or if you can’t resist your hands to keep away from face, try to squeeze it gently with finger pads after shower. In that way, sebum and the surface of skin will be soften.

If not, wait for it. It’s time doesn’t come yet!

Applying products incorrectly

We have tons of skin products than ever before and we bought some of best variety of them that is suitable to our skin. But we got confused which is the right way to use skincare products in proper order.

We heard that, always go for “thinner texture to thicker one”. In that order, your skin surface will absorb better and will penetrate your skin properly.

Such as, use water-based products first like toners, serums, essences, facial mist and than go for moisturizing ones like lotions, creams and oils. As it will allow the products to sit better on your skin for longer time.

Not Removing your makeup off before bed

Beauties, you really need to work on this. Don’t think like it’s night time and you’re tired, and, so you will wash it up in the morning whatever!

Always always remove your makeup before going to bed. As the chemicals adding up with oil and dirt all day long will clog pores on skin and will ruin your skin further with acne and blackheads breakout.

Stay shine, stay glow!
